Dr. Duffy Jones DVM

Dr. Duffy Jones is a native of the Atlanta area, and he grew up within walking distance of Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital. Dr. Jones is a graduate of Christ the King Elementary School and Marist High School. He attended the University of Notre Dame, and later Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine (now renamed the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University), from which he received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.

After that, Dr. Jones completed a one-year rotating internship in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and surgery at Georgia Veterinary Specialists. He then spent five years working at Bells Ferry Veterinary Hospital and South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital. In August of 2005, he opened Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital in Buckhead.

He is currently on the Board of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association where he has served in virtually every position and capacity and is a CE teacher. He has recently become a WebMD Pet Health Community Guest Expert, and has contributed to blog posts and podcasts for Victoria Stilwell’s Positively website.

He has written a book “The Business Side of Veterinary Medicine” and is a cofounder and partner in a consultancy that helps other independent veterinary practices thrive, DVM Success.

Dr. Jones considers himself lucky to have married the girl next door, Courtney. They have been blessed with two sons, Dawson and Grady, and a daughter Sydney.  In his spare time, Dr. Jones likes to fly fish and play basketball and soccer.

He is very involved as a parent volunteer at Christ the King School and his alma mater Marist School, where he has recently served along with a former Notre Dame teammate as varsity soccer coach, coaching his two sons and two nephews.

The Jones home is currently run by Rosie and Millie, two spoiled Royal Cavalier King Charles Spaniels,
