Curbside Drop-Off and Triage--Important Video Update (July 27)

Please take a minute to watch this video from Dr. Duffy on safety procedures for curbside drop-off and triage. We are so grateful to all of our clients for helping us maintain our safety protocols during these trying times. So first of all, thank you. Dr. Duffy offers some suggestions to maximize the safety for both you, your pets and our staff during the temporary curbside drop-off and triage.

schedule appointment online2Because of the terrible July heat and for the safety of our employees as well as you and your pet - PLEASE CALL THE FRONT DESK at 404.812.9880 as soon as you pull into a space to let us know you are here. This will allow you to have your pet crated in a carrier or on a leash by the time we come out.

We want to keep your outside time limited because of the heat and we do not want pets to get loose, since we are on a busy street. There is simply too much room for trouble if our nurses are having to wrestle your animal out from your car. So we greatly appreciate your help with this process!

PHAH TeleVET Telemedicine Now Offers a Web-Based App without a Download

We have had great success with "contactless consults" utlilizing TeleVET, our telemedicine app. We are excited to announce the launch of a new web-based app for pet parents!

Now you don't have to download an app to request a consultation. Just go to pets.televet.com and log-in or create an account. You will then be able to easily request consultations, send messages and complete video calls from a web browser, tablet, or mobile browser.

We encourage everyone to visit this pets.televet.com launch page and familiarize yourself with how it works, should you need to use it.

Note: We will soon be using TeleVET to follow up on all surgical procedures, as it is much less stressful for your pet. We are the last people your pet wants to see the week following a procedure, but we can accomplish the same level of check-up using photos and video feed. Win-win! Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital Takes ‘Georgia Safety Promise’

Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital announced today that we are joining fellow businesses across the state in taking the Georgia Safety Promise. This safety campaign, initiated by the Governor’s office and by the Georgia Department of Public Health, is a simple agreement, made by both businesses and the public, to take basic steps to protect each other during COVID-19. These safety steps include promoting social distancing, wearing a face covering, cleaning surfaces, and washing and sanitizing hands.

GeorgiaSafetyPromisePeachtree Hills Animal Hospital is proud to join this public-private partnership program to do our part to create a safe environment for employees and customers and contribute to Georgia’s economic recovery.

The Georgia Safety Promise was established to not only support Georgia businesses as they reopen, but to reassure patrons that safety guidelines are being followed. The program is a special designation given to participating Georgia businesses who make the promise. The program also provides an opportunity to inspire residents to act in a socially responsible way for the good of all Georgians and to support local businesses as they recover from the economic effects of COVID-19.

The Georgia Safety Promise public-private partnership program is led by the Office of the Governor and includes the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Department of Public Health, Georgia Bankers Association, Georgia Hotel & Lodging Association, Georgia Retail Association, Georgia Restaurant Association, and Georgia NFIB. The campaign was developed based on recommendations from Kemp’s Coronavirus Task Force Economic Impact Committee, chaired by State Fiscal Economist Dr. Jeffrey Dorfman.

PHAH proACT--Helping You Manage Your Billing

We have also had interest in ProACT, our enrollment-based pre-payment management program to enable you to be prepared for any level of care that your pet may need. ProACT provides financial ease, operating like a credit on your savings account. How it works:proACTlogo

  • Clients subscribe, with no enrollment fee
  • Enrolled clients prepay nominal installments by automatic debit or credit card, such as $50 monthly and a $3.75 processing fee. Total installment would be $53.75 per month.
  • The client’s account is credited and the money may be used for anything at PHAH, including food and medicine/medical supplies.
  • If the pet dies or if the client moves, the client will be refunded a check for the balance, minus $10 processing fee. Or, the client may opt to roll it into another pet account.
  • The client may enter or exit the program whenever they choose. They will pay a small processing fee.

Latest Guidelines From the CDC for Pet Owners

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has just updated a section on their website that addresses coping with daily life if you have pets: Daily Life with Pets and COVID-19.
Further information on the CDC's website that you may find helpful is below:

Two key take-aways from this are:

  1. It is still safe to walk your dogs but probably best to not let people you don't know hug them - try to maintain the same guidelines as we are all following with humans - avoid up close/personal contact.
  2. It is safe to bring your pets here to Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital. Our nurses and doctors are wearing masks, following strict protocols and we are closely monitoring the health of all staff. Pets would have to have long exposure to someone who is infected with this novel coronavirus to be able to transmit it. So do not worry! See below for more information on how we are ensuring your safety.

Wishing you and your pet family safety and good health!
