Amanda has just recently moved to Atlanta from Tacoma, WA where she graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Policy. While studying at UPS, she conducted research on wolf behavior and write her thesis on developing a methodology for quantifying concentrations of pollutants in the feathers of seabirds. Amanda hopes to eventually go to school to be a vet and potentially work with exotic animals. She has been also getting experience by interning at Zoo Atlanta in the Panda and Carnivore Departments. Amanda grew up near Boulder, CO where she fostered her passion of working with animals by caring for her pets, pet sitting for friends, and by volunteering at the local humane society in her spare time. Her hobbies outside of work include reading, hiking, backpacking, snorkeling and traveling whenever possible.
Amanda doesn’t currently have any pets in her family but is hoping that will change soon.
